Frequently Asked Questions

This page is currently being reviewed and under construction.

On this webpage, we will gather the answers to the questions we receive during the preparations for the conference.

Topic: COVID-19 and the Conference

• What is the format of the conference?

We plan to have the conference solely on-site with a possibility of changes depending on the general situation and recommendations from the respective public health authorities.

• Do you plan to have a hybrid/online version of the conference?

Currently, we do not plan any of the two alternatives – we reserve the right to change this depending on the situation and recommendation from the respective public health authorities.

Topic: Call for Panels/Call for Papers

Where can I find more details about Call for Papers/Panels?

Please see the details on following pages: Call for Papers and Call for Panels (the deadline has already passed). Deadlines are mentioned in the right hand side menu.

• Can I submit a proposal for a Panel/Paper dealing with…? My research is not about Norden; can I present it nevertheless?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to assess in advance how well-fitting a specific proposal is. As a general rule, the Call for Panels/Papers needs to be observed. The conference has a broad yet not unlimited geographical approach: It includes inter-Nordic relationships and Nordic entanglements with countries or areas in the larger Baltic Sea Region, Eastern and Central Europe, the EU, the UK, and the Arctic. Ideally, papers or panels should address these intersecting areas and/or at least one of the thematic streams (they all refer to Norden in an evolving world). This can also be done using comparison.

Topic: Conference Activities

What is the offer of the conference (evening) activities?

There will be some extra activities during the conference, among others, e.g. gala evening dinner. Some of these options might be subjected to a fee.

Topic: Conference Exhibition

We want to present books/other material. Can we have a stand/roll-up/table etc. at the conference venue?

We have exhibition areas that we are happy to offer to actors with relevant exhibits. For more details, please click here to get in touch with us.
