Business hours & shopping

Shops are generally open between 10.00 and 18.00 or 19.00 on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00 on Saturdays. Bigger shops might have longer opening hours – until 21.00 or even longer.

Climate and Clothing

Electricity

In Sweden, the electrical voltage used is 220/230V, power plugs and sockets are of type F.

Emergency

The general emergency call number in Sweden is 112. For non-urgent calls to the Police: 114 14. First aid kits, fire extinguishers and heart defibrillators are available and displayed in all campus buildings.

Please notify the conference organisers in case of any questions and in case things should go wrong.

Local Currency

The Swedish monetary unit is the Swedish krona (SEK). Major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. There are several currency exchange offices. Cash dispensers at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport and in Stockholm. There are several around the university campus. Exchange rates may vary.

Smoking policy

Sweden has a non-smoking policy, i.e. smoking is prohibited in public buildings, public transport, taxis, buses and trains.

Time zone

Sweden belongs to the Central European Time zone (CET). Daylight saving time (CEST) is in effect from March to October. CEST applies on all times mentioned in programme for the conference.
